Welcome to our April Intense Event Plotting meme! This post is our monthly CR meme for everyone, and serves as a place to make some plans for our next event which will go live on April 12th. Below you will see the Event planning form as well as an Event Outline for our upcoming event.

Reflecting Back

• Peering into reflective surfaces (mirrors, windows, water, etc.) causes Dreamers to see a past version of themselves.
• They are unable to resist in engaging in conversation with their reflections.
• Engaging with a reflection for too long will cause the Dreamer to begin to embody that version of themselves, eventually forgetting who they are and losing touch with reality.
• This trance can only be broken by shattering the reflective surface which caused it.
• Dreamers are hesitant to destroy reflective surfaces, and doing so will cause them to temporarily lose memories about the time in their life that was being reflected.

Doppelgangers

• Doppelgangers are appearing in Visium and Lumindeas, impersonating anyone who is significant to the Dreamer they're following.
• They obsessively follow Dreamers and insist on being close with them at all times.
• They are extremely temperamental, prone to aggression or despair.
• If accused of being a doppelganger, attacked, or otherwise confronted or displeased, they will viciously attack the Dreamer. They can use any ability that the person they are copying can use (please use your best judgment and nerf appropriately).
• The only way to rid oneself of a doppelganger is to kill them, or viciously rebuke them, insulting them and demanding they leave, no matter how much they cry and protest.

Changelings

• Creatures called changelings are replacing all living things in Lumindeas and Visium - locals, animals, plants. The originals are incapacitated and hidden, replaced by the changelings.
• They are extremely violent, and will only tolerate Dreamers for a few minutes before attacking with the intent to kill.
• They can only be gotten rid of by being killed.
• Even plants may come to life and attack (use your imagination!)

The Locals' Response

• Dreamers may be detained for long periods of time at the Light & Whole clinic if they are suspected of being doppelgangers, though conditions are very good, and they are allowed to use their devices.
• At one point, doppelgangers and changelings make their way into the clinic, threatening the genuine Dreamers and locals being detained or seeking refuge there.
• Meanwhile, locals are encouraging Dreamers to come up with plans for how to differentiate each other from doppelgangers.
• Dreamers are also offered golden bracelets to wear, which will allow them to identify any doppelganger, and will prevent themselves from being copied.
• Wearing the bracelet will lead to temporary memory loss, confusion, etc., which locals are aware of.
• Wearing the bracelet will also cause each Dreamer who does so to lose one significant memory until it is returned during a future event.

Welcome to our Intense event plotting! This is the first month that we are focusing on an Intense event that is not taking into account new players due to our new app cycle schedule. We will have a feedback comment for the plotting form, in case you think I should add or remove different elements from the form that may work better for these months.

Also regarding the event: Please use your best judgment when writing your doppelganger-related threads. Remember that threads should primarily be between characters that are actually in-game; playing the doppelgang version of your character for certain threads is also an option.

General Info: Dolph’s story is a typical one. He grew up on the streets, joined the military for a better life, got horribly injured and then became a cyborg supersoldier and the face of a fascist dystopic company. However, he realized they Sucked and ditched them. However, due to not paying his medical bills, he was being hunted as Eden’s property and they sent the state police after him. Isn’t capitalism fun?

On the outside, Dolph is an incredibly taciturn and blunt person, verging on rude and sarcastic. He doesn’t have much experience with friends or family and has been betrayed over and over again, which makes it hard for him to open up to anyone. He just wants to live a peaceful life, preferably with a nice boyfriend and have no one kill him or sell him to the highest bidder. Life goals. He is kinder and more compassionate than he lets on, he just lacks any emotional acuity to go with it. Though after a year in Laby, Dolph had become much more stable, kinder and willing to do what it takes to help others. That’s who he is. Who he was meant to be.

State Of: Dolph is doing well! He’s reached a couple of milestones in regards to who he is, who he wants to be and what he truly cares about. He’s a much more stable person, though which direction he wishes to go in remains unclear. That being said, he has a wedding to plan.

General Info: Vil is ans actor and model by trade and, at his core, the most aggressive mom friend you will ever meet. He's like the Gordon Ramsay of self care. He strives for perfect by being a little better every day than he was the day before, and will push people to try and be the same. While aggressive, brutally honest, and hard to please, he does genuinely try to help others be the best they can be, so long as it's something in his wheelhouse and he can see genuine efforts being made.

In short he's vain and prideful, and a harsh critic, but one that does genuinely want to help even if that's just pestering characters to drink their water (Drink your water and stop sitting like a shrimp btw).

•Reflecting Back- While he won't let it go too far, Vil will ABSOLUTELY be reflecting his overblot self. Meaning the mage beserker-mode when they use too much magic while having a mental breakdown. He can't actually remember overblotting, so this would be his first time actually seeing himself. He's too self-disciplined to let it go too far though (meta-physical black lipstick clashes with most of his outfits).
•doppelgangers- So Vil will be seeing a doppelganger of his father! He's been missing him so much over his 2 year stay, so of course I'm going to make this difficult for him. He'll pick up pretty quick that it's not his dad but he's going to REALLY struggle with it
•Changlings- Vil has fought an arduous battle with the local wildlife every year for his birthday since he arrived- plants in particular. I will not stop this tradition. Happy Birthday Vil, your garden is trying to kill you again.
Non Event Plans: Going to try and FINALLY do the tag tally and submit for the theater- still waffling on details, but it'll be a good thing for next month!

Omori is one of the dual protagonists of Omori, the idealized alter ego of a sixteen-year-old boy named Sunny. Omori takes on a life of his own, and ends up the final antagonist of the game, facing off against Sunny for his life (which he will take by inflicting so much emotional trauma that, well, yeah). He's not a nice a kid! But he can be a fun one. He and Sunny were both in Visium for a while, sharing a body, but then Sunny left, and Omori was left behind, now in his own body. He is a mischievous, volatile, peculiar little dude who is mostly focused on just running around and causing chaos, these days.

Event Plans: HEY GUYS!!! The main reason I'm posting for Omori (only) this time around is because on Easter (04/20), he will be holding an egg hunt at his haunted (not really) castle, which will be open to everyone! Since it happens to coincide with this event, there will be event stuff involved, and this will essentially function as Omori's catch-all FOR the event - however, it will be a mingle log, similar to others I've done in the past (ie: lantern festival, snowball fight, spicy food contest, war farm, etc.) - I HOPE EVERYONE PARTICIPATES. I will also have an Omori top-level there most likely.

Aside from that, I'm making individual plans for my other guys this time around, as I'm planning on limiting my threads. I will reach out to make plans! <3

General Info: C+P'ing mostly from the last time since this hasn't changed. Haru is a sweet young woman who is introduced during the fifth heist in P5, also being the daughter of their target. She’s had to endure a lot of terrible and likely abusive behaviour from both her father, who is a CEO, and a shitty dude she was engaged to since her father uses her as a pawn for his own gain. Despite how kind of awful and sheltered her life was, Haru is very much the opposite of these wealthy and high society folks, being incredibly kind, polite and a great supportive friend. She’s a little naive due to how wealthy she is back home and being kind of sheltered, but she’s also got a bit of a freak side in battle. (Why is this girl talking about murdering shadows?? Haru are you OK??)

Unfortunately for Haru, her trauma didn’t just end when she changed her father’s heart because he was murdered and she became an orphan, was essentially framed for his murder as being part of the PT, and became the largest shareholder in the company all at once and it was… a lot. But she’s doing okay. Shockingly. She’s from Strikers canon with P5 Royal canon, so a few months have passed and she’s grown a lot in that time, also gaining more confidence in how she deals with others and conflict. Haru doesn’t start fights, but she’s happy to end them for her friends.

She’s taken from right after reuniting with an old family friend, Mariko Hyodo, so she’s dealing with some complex emotions and sort of in a mourning process about Mariko’s horrible behaviour.

Event Plans: I am not sure yet if Haru would get caught up in the reflections, mainly because that part of her is relatively done with and not something I am looking to engage with so soon with her arrival.

BUT I absolutely want changeling drama. Haru loves plants, but she also loves chopping things. Unfortunately, Haru is powerless right now, so she would likely require a save at some point. Someone get her a gun or an axe please! Then she's ready to rumble.

I am open to doppelganger drama as well! She is still new, so I am not sure how much of that she would be involved with, but I'm happy to plot something 'cause I just want her involved somewhere. Someone might be able to convince her to drink her potion during this time so she's not unarmed! Editing this as Haru will probably be plagued by her father, Kunikazu Okumura. Fine, let's get on this trauma train!

Harry Du Bois | Disco Elysium

General Info: Harry is a drunk (though currently trying to stay sober), self-destructive mess who loves people but hates himself. He’s extremely empathetic for the downtrodden, and very, very driven. When he gets an idea in his head, he’s incapable of stopping. Even deliberately wiping all of his memories didn’t make him stop; all it did was show the only thing Harry knows what to do is work.

He’s also the protagonist of his canon, and a good 85% of the dialogue in the game is Harry’s shattered and disconnected thoughts talking to each other. In game, he’s a pseudo-customizable protagonist in that you can choose how he interacts with the world and exactly how much of a hot mess he is for the duration of the game. It’s all Harry, though. Especially the horrifically embarrassing intrusive thoughts you can have him say/do if he fails a skill check. For anyone canon familiar, these are his endgame stats, more or less. For anyone not familiar, the tl;dr is that he spends much of his time lost in his own thoughts, and is as prone to dream logic as he is concrete thinking. He’s also so empathetic he’s liable to burst into tears over your tragic backstory.

Event Plans: So Disco Elysium, as a story, is all about how Harry ruined his life and might finally be able to move of as a result of completely losing his memories. He’s been out of his canon for a year now between this game and the one he’s a CRAU from, and as a result I am not so sure how much I want him to interact with the memory loss mechanic. But! He will absolutely be going after the changelings, as well as doppelgangers. He can also express concern for anyone who has started forgetting things, especially since he’s already done the erased his memories on purpose thing already once before. He’ll be very concerned about what’s going on. Has the Pale leaked over to this world?!

He could even be mistaken for a doppelganger and be annoyed but Harry is still Harry Du Bois, which means he’s weird, will get sidetracked easily, and go on bizarre tangents. He could very well be a doppelganger!

Due to his traumatic past, he has difficulty opening up to others and tends to withdraw more than the normal person typically would. However, he's the type of friend who would do absolutely anything for the people he loves, even if it's not what's best for either himself or the other person.

In-game: Basil has a greenhouse next to the cottage that he lives in and manages a flower shop. He takes requests to grow anything that characters might want to see grown. Other than that, he dabbles in taking pictures from time to time and can be often seen with a cat following him around.

Event Plans: - Basil will see a more carefree version of himself and will begin acting like that. That means a far more carefree and relaxed version of him...
- Sunny will be following Basil around! He's closest to Basil from home. Basil will hesitate to confront the doppelganger, but will quickly realize that it isn't him. It'll definitely cause a lot of anxiety on his end.
- Basil will be attacked by the changelings, considering how he surrounds himself with plants all day. I'm thinking of having him seriously injured or killed... I'm undecided.
- If he isn't killed, he'll end up at the clinic where he'll use what defensive magic he knows to protect the other dreamers.

Her selfless and compassionate nature led many to consider her a holy woman and a saint. While she plays a significant role in main events, revealing more would spoil the story. Rella is deeply connected to Junah and the Magnus Brothers, so those with close relationships with either of them may have heard of her.

Reflecting Back: Her reflection mirrors when she was twelve. Mods have confirmed she will not change to be small and adorable. But her behaviour will change to reflect events covered below.

Chronologically this will happen after her assignment to assassinate the prince. Rella will double down on her guilt and urge to martyr herself for others. She will also be followed by the doppelganger of the person responsible.

Doppelgangers: Rella will be followed by the doppelganger of Sanctifex Forden. I should warn this fantasy pope is a massive snake who is racist towards people of lesser tribes. In Labyrinthum he would keep this hidden from strangers but glance at anyone who looks human. Rella will be attending to him and will find confronting him difficult.

Forden is responsible for the assassination of the prince. Rella was coerced into taking part when he threatened her sister.

Event Plans:

Morgan is definitely getting stuck in a mirror trance. He will HATE this.

No doppelgangers will plague him, since no one of any significance to him would be relevant to anyone else (and most of them have historically been played by other people, not crossing THAT line!).

With his powers and weapons restored, Morgan is pretty handy to have against the changelings, and will gladly help anyone fight them. Similarly, if you need someone to kill a doppelganger bothering your character, he can be the one to do it. (He will hate it, but he won't hesitate.)

Event Plans: There's no way in Hell he's not going to get into an argument with his old self in the mirror and he's going to be there for a very long time. So there will be a much younger version of Szel eventually wandering around here who will not be answering to what he told everyone his name is. Don't worry though, this version of him is even more willing to infodump and answer every single question you ask regardless of how prudent an idea that is!

There will be a few doppelgangers, undoubtedly a pack of seraphs themselves, please enjoy the funky Eldritch automaton weirdos that'll be hanging around him. He sure fucking won't, he doesn't have any powers right now so he'll be in need of a little help to make them go away.

Non Event Plans: Szel will be drifting around here and there trying to avoid being in one place for too long thanks to the doppelgangers that he'll be failing to do anything about. He'll also be lurking around the Steluna Academy and library in Stellari.

Tends to come off as very prickly but he cares a lot more than he lets on.

Event Plans: Hythlodaeus will be baffled by the doppelgangers, and given that he's not a confrontational person it will be hard to essentially push them away unless they get too emotional and attack him. He'll defend himself, but he won't like it, and might need some help on that front simply because unless he knows they're not real, he'll be holding back.

Items that come to life thanks to Changelings will be easier for him to attack, at least? He can help defeat some of those.
Non Event Plans: Just going to noodle around and look for things to tag into. Keeping it kinda low-key!

General Info: Amongst your party members, Strohl is the first one you meet and from the get go he radiates noblesse oblige. He's a noble, and at first he thought that meant being a person of outmost importance, but his parents taught him otherwise. This comes to a head when his parents are killed when their village got destroyed by a raging monster known as a human, and from then on he has taken his parents' lessons to heart. On the surface he appears very posh and well-mannered, - he even acts as the party's strategist and spokesperson at times. In truth he's actually a chihuahua shaking with anxiety and anger in the inside. He tends to overthink a lot and is incapable of minding his own business when he perceives injustice. Basically he's a noble knight type that's okay with murder every now and then.

Event Plans:

• reflecting back: meet baby thirteen year old strohl, who's still good natured and hot tempered but he's also a bit haughty because he thinks it's his right as a noble to be dignified and, well, noblelike. present strohl thinks he used to be a bit of a brat but he's actually not too bad. just a bit prone of talking big when he can't back it up.


• doppelgangers: i'm tempted to bring in the one and only louis guiabern, aka metaphor's very own antagonist and the source of strohl's hero origin story. strohl is gonna get perturbed by him quick and he will try to kill him as soon as he can.


• changelings: some enrichment (killing) maybe? strohl has his powers back so he wouldn't mind helping out with taking those guys down. probably wouldn't even be bothered by them looking like people at times. don't worry about it.

He’s a technomantic engineer, meaning he’s a mage who can infuse magic into machines, as well as a computer programming and hacking prodigy. Oh, and he has massive survivor’s guilt and PTSD over the death of his younger brother to the point he tried to destroy his world so his brother’s corrupted spirit could exist there. No big deal.

Event Plans: Not gonna do the reflection thing as Idia generally avoids looking at himself in mirrors anyway (and because I’m a dummy who can’t read, apparently).

His doppelgänger will definitely be Ortho, his brother. Idia won’t reject it and might actually be protective of it even if it doesn’t act exactly like Ortho. He’s that desperate to see his brother again. However he WILL tell anyone who asks that he knows it’s fake, a ghost sent to punish him.

General Info: Cater's a fun-loving party boy who likes keeping up with the latest trends, is a bit terminally online, and definitely not hiding anything about his real thoughts and feelings! Don't worry about the occasional cryptic comment--he's totes just joking, LOL. He comes from a magical academy where he does decently but is pretty commonly known to be a slacker, despite living in a dorm that dedicates itself to strictness. It's a good thing he's cute and knows how to talk his way out of troublesome situations, or else he'd be in the doghouse on a regular basis. As far as reliability goes, you really could do worse than Cater, even if he'd have you believe otherwise.

General Info: Jayce is one half of the inventor team that made Hextech (or Techmaturgy). He's regarded as a genius and took on the role of a political leader, as well. But because he's in Arcane he got systematically broken by the narrative and is from a canon point where that's extremely obvious. He also has problems letting go of things and is doing just slightly better now than he was when he left home. Despite his issues, he is generally friendly and kind towards people (especially people who come across similarly). He's generally very trusting, as well.

Event Plans:
- Dopplegangers: Jayce is going to see the Commune version of Vikto near him. This is great because this shit has been haunting him for awhile. He's going to think it's a hallucination, since he's been going through that for awhile now and it wouldn't be weird to see the embodiment of his guilt right there. He's definitely needing someone else to note that they see him, too because he will not know it's real until someone else sees it.
- Changelings: time to use any makeshift weapon he can find and fight fight fight.

He's all about helping the downtrodden people of his home, Zaun, and is a brilliant inventor/scientist. He hasn't gotten into mischief at the point I took him from quite yet. So he's just dealing with the fact that he's just learned about his prognosis and it sucks so that's fun. He's also died thanks to hanahaki so he's really just like, wow dying isn't great, I want to prevent that from happening again so maybe he will start to experiment with whacky crystal stuff??

Character Name: Arrakis Faylare

Character Age: 23ish, due to his magic slowing his aging, and a personal choice, his age is a bit complicated.
General Info: Arrakis was the unwanted sixth son of the noble Faylare house. He was gifted dangerous magic by a nameless goddess and transformed into a being of magic tied to his human soul. Now he's a shadow of his human past wrapped inside a dangerous magical energy that tied to his soul. He still looks human, aside from glowing eyes that look like there is a piece of wind trapped inside them, but his form is an echo of his humanity crafted from his memories. He clings to his human side and pretends to be a normal person who simply uses magic, instead of revealing how deeply his magic is tied to his entire being. His dangerous magic is indirectly responsible from the destruction of his world and he hides his sins and many insecurities behind a friendly smile and love for life.

Event Plans:

Reflecting Back - Arrakis will reflect his younger, seventeen year old self when he was a noble and before he was chosen as a mage. He was desperate for his family's acceptance and he did anything his family asked of him, becoming the Faylare's attack dog for everything that they didn't want to lead back to one of the more influential members of the family. He will play the dutiful son and be polite and friendly to everyone but there's a rebellious sharpness to his act, hinting at his true bitterness underneath. Arrakis was very jaded at this time and believed that any form of affection for him was a lie or only because he was useful. He still longed for others to love him though, and since this is before he learns about his early death, he's more selfish, even if he doesn't expect anything to last.

He will protect the surface his past self is reflected on, he may even try to hide it if he can. When his reflection is destroyed, Arrakis will lose his resentful side for a bit. It's an integral part of his character so I don't want him to lose his memory for too long but I will have a prompt for when Arrakis's memory loss where his friendly mask is much less polished as he desperately tries to hide the ugly person he is.

Doppelgangers - I'm bringing in Arrakis's secret lover Sheliak for this. Arrakis will be able to tell he's not real from the way his magic feels slightly off but he doesn't care. He's just glad to have even an echo of him here and the two of them fought all the time. He will even look like he's enjoying himself while the water mage attacks him. It's fine. Arrakis will be fiercely protective of Sheliak and will not easily forgive anyone who harms him.

Changelings - At this point Arrakis is used to everything here trying to kill him so he won't be phased by the changelings. The fact that they are taking over the locals as well is annoying and he will incapacitate them instead of killing them, incase they are the real thing. He doesn't need to add accidental murder to the list of reasons for the locals not to trust them.

The Locals' Response - Arrakis will not like being detained, no matter how nice the conditions are. He will go along with it though, that way he can protect his fellow dreamers if they decide it would be easier to just get rid of them. He will refuse the golden bracelets. Memories are precious to him.

Non Event Plans: I've been struggling with this game lately so I'm thinking of saying that Arrakis's recovery from losing his magic took longer than he expected and starting fresh with the event. If anyone wants to keep any old threads please let me know and I can hold onto them. I'm also still interested in Arrakis's recovery log if anyone still wants to tag into that. In general, Arrakis is thrilled to have his magic back and he's going to lean more towards his magic side for awhile. His consciousness is constantly in a tug of war between his magical side, and his human side that his crafted from his memories of when he was human. Normally Arrakis clings to his human side more and pretends he's a normal human. Afraid that he might lose his magic again, Arrakis is less willing to rein in his magic and there will be subtle signs in his mannerisms that he's not as human as he seems.

Anything else: I'm going on a trip next month and I plan on going on hiatus, so if there is anything you want to do with Arrakis before that, just let me know.

Event Plans: 1. While in a mirror trance, Qi Rong will be acting like his 15 year old self! Suddenly, he will be a very big fan of his cousin Xie Lian. Do not let him drive any vehicles for any reason.

2. If you need Qi Rong to kill a doppelganger or changeling, all you have to do is ask! In fact, you don't even have to ask! (He might even help out people in danger, but don't tell anyone and ruin his rep.) However, since he still doesn't have his powers, he might get himself in trouble...

3. If you wear a golden bracelet, he will make fun of you. He might make fun of you for other reasons, too.

4. I am up for just about anything with him.

Non Event Plans: Qi Rong has built a shrine to himself where people can leave offerings to him. Technically, he has his own religion now. If anyone would like their character to become a Qi Rong worshiper (for some strange reason), that can be arranged! Otherwise, he roams around living his life like a feral cat. He may be getting his powers back soon.

Reflections: Maybe there will be a reflection of Eupha from like three weeks prior to coming here! Sometimes you completely flip your life around in like a day.
Doppelgangers: Eupha will be followed by a doppelganger of her dear brother, Edeni! At first it will be very sweet and she will get to spend time with her favourite person in the world (even if she realizes he's not real), until it stops being so sweet and she might need a hand. Eupha would have a very hard time hurting or rebuking her brother.
Changelings, etc: Eupha has no powers (other than healing) and no weapon so. good luck girl. try not to get damselled.
