Welcome to our February CR meme! This post is our monthly CR meme for everyone, an OOC intro for our New Players and also serves as a place to make some plans for our next event which will go live on February 15th. Below you will see the Event planning form as well as an Event Outline for our upcoming event.

A Royal Audience

• A Royal Forum is being held in Stellari where Seravo himself will appear - Dreamers are encouraged to attend
• There is food and drink, mingling is encouraged
• Seravo announces that he will be returning the powers that Dreamers sacrificed during the November event
• Throughout the month, Dreamers who sacrificed their regained abilities will feel the powers slowly begin to return, and they will have returned fully by the New Moon
• Seravo opens the forum to questions - one question will be allowed per character, with short Servo threads in response; please keep IC questions to IC knowledge

Flower Petal Affliction
cw: disease, blood, body horror

• Dreamers who are withholding something important / hiding a secret will develop a cough and begin to feel sick
• Locals are aware of the disease and warn that it will progress quickly unless the truth is told
• The afflicted feel symptoms such as fever, headache, weakness, difficulty breathing, and a persistent cough which produces flower petals and blood, as roots grow in the lungs
• The disease also causes increased feelings of mistrust for the people around you
• The afflicted WILL die if the disease is not cured, and it can only be cured by confessing the afflicted's hidden truths

Crystal Corruption

• Corrupted clusters of crystal begin appearing in the swamp, where local workers are stationed, tasked with destroying it - Dreamers are asked to help
• Getting close to the corrupted crystal will cause feelings of mistrust to grow between the Dreamers working together, worsening the longer they are exposed
• Dreamers must work in pairs of twos or threes to clear corrupted crystal
• Dreamers will help remove corrupted crystal from the swamp by either crushing clusters, helping snakes who are afflicted with the crystal, skimming the waters for crystal clusters, or removing crystal clusters from trees
• Crystal clusters are collected in small bags that are to be returned in exchange for a small amount of cords (up to three bags)
• Crystal clusters are also appearing in Lumindeas, which Dreamers are also asked to help clear
• Crystal rings (similar to fairy rings) can only be cleared by two Dreamers standing in the middle and telling a truth
• Crystal in the woods can only be cleared without using magic
• Domestic animals are infected with the crystal and must have it cleared, as well as wolves from the woods, which much be healed so they don't spread the parasite
• Those who clear the crystal in town are asked to bring them to a purification dance, where they will be paired up and taught a dance similar to the tango; it increases trust between the partners

Truth & Trust

• The Uweih religion is holding truth & trust exercises at the gold crystal to promote healing from the flower petal disease
• The event has the atmosphere of a festival, with music, food, games, and other pageantry
• Dreamers are encouraged to participate in activities such as trust falls, telephone, two truths & a lie, etc. (there will be a list of activities and directions for how they work)
• Participating in these activities will help Dreamers start to feel better if they are afflicted with the disease, but only if they've addressed the hidden truth that is making them sick

There will be a header comment for all questions aimed at Seravo on the event post. The NPC will be available for one question per player. In order to keep the tag load manageable, the threads may be kept fairly short. Seravo reserves the right to ignore or talk around any question he doesn't want to answer. Only those who attend the Audience can ask questions of Seravo.

All questions/thread starters should be posted before February 18th 11:59pm CST. After the end of February, any threads with the NPC will be considered wrapped.

Character Name: Taryon Darrington
Canon: Critical Role
Character Age: 28
General Info: High-intelligence, low-wisdom Artificer who decided to join an adventuring party because he read a lot of fantasy books and wanted to be cool. He's built a robot to be his assistant (Doty is always following Taryon around) and his specialty is in designing and using magitek. Taryon is a huge nerd with a tendency to but his foot in his mouth.

State Of: Taryon has lost all of his canonmates and is in need of some more friends. He's usually at his home or at the library, but he has Doty, his boyfriend Saelfen, and his gardener buddy Senshi!

CR Desires/RP Wishlist: Other nerds! People to bond over complicated family dynamics with! I also want him to join someone in a fight against a monster in the future so he can use his magic infusion skills with another fighter.

Non-Event Plans: I have an idea of doing an IC tabletop session where everyone compares their characters

Event Plans: Taryon will go to the Royal Forum, and I plan for him to be affected by the crystal corruptions. He's a trusting guy, and slowing becoming mistrustful of others is a fun direction to explore.

Goodness, the fact that Taryon lost all his castemates/friends is really sad. Saelfen would purposely spend time with Taryon so he doesn't feel lonely.

However, does that mean Saelfen gets to meet Senshi soon?

Please! I think Tary should message him at some point and let him know that he might see Sael at his place often.

Speaking of, since Tary's friends are gone, the castle they bought is also gone, but I should have enough points for tary to replace it with his own castle or a classy mansion. It will be different but there will be a big house either way

Tary should message him! Sael wouldn’t mind opening his little treehouse home to him. Besides, this gives Sael the perfect excuse to cuddle his poor boyfriend.

If Taryon does get decide to purchase a mansion instead—Saelfen wouldn’t mind moving in with him if the opportunity occurs. That way they can move in some of the friends they know as well, like Senshi.

I started Critical Role but I haven't reached Taryon's campaign yet. He sounds fun!

Things with Arrakis and Saelfen are tense (but fun!). I love that Saelfen brings out Arrakis's resentful side which he usually hides behind a friendly smile. It could be interesting to have Arrakis meet Taryon, especially if they become friends.

Arrakis isn't necessarily a nerd but he never tires of listening to his nerdy friends. One of his close friends from home is an inventor and engineer so I can see Arrakis being curious about Taryon's magitek, especially since he's part magic himself.

Arrakis also has a complicated family dynamic they can bond over. He was the unwanted sixth son of a noble house and he hides a ton of distrust and resentment. Trying to fight the crystal corruption and not give into his deep distrust could be fun!

He's a delight. Hopefully you'll get far enough to meet him, it's a wild journey getting there.

They can run into each other during the event! Tary's robot will be there helping out (and it can't feel mistrust......can it???)
