Look forward to it!• Event Outline •New Characters Established CharactersExpand to see our TDM Outline
Garden of DreamsWithin Somnius
- dreamers are brought to the enchanted garden
- two flowers, Agapanthus and Snapdragons causing sleepiness or energy
- dragonkin arrive to guide new arrivals from the garden and take them to the new portal that has appeared.
The Land of Lumindeas
- sun is up, still snowing 24/7
- Locals want the dreamers to leave Somnius and go to Lumindeas, but THEY DO NOT HAVE TO, nor do they have to move their business - can if they want, but not required
- Seravo's voice welcomes the dreamers to the new setting
- Passing through the portal, dreamer feels their greatest current desire in an overwhelming manner
Into Starlit Walls
- the land is large and varied with plenty to explore.
- it is winter and snowy, though crisper and lighter than the atmosphere in Visium
- Portal Settlement outside of the city is where Dreamers wind up
- Farms with animal and crop specialties exist and require hands to help
- Yhaveh Forest is labyrinth like and dangerous, it's possible to get lost
- There's a seashell gathering contest for those who want to participate and street food vendors for anyone visiting
- The airships offer travel to an overnight trip through the Air Cliffs and an overnight trip to the hot springs in the Crystal Spires
Gilded Wishes
- the city is massive, and overall welcoming
- Dragonkin are a dominant race of locals
- Vaeros will have a funeral, a lantern lighting ritual as proclaimed by Seravo, his brother.
- The royal quarter, the place where all dreamers have the option to live is looking to decorate with emotion-filled streamers
- The greenery is having a paint-fight-contest for fun and profit
- The dockyards are looking for a few good fishermen, but the water sure seems to have strange properties...
- There's a criminal element evident in the city and appropriate locations such as bars and smoking dens and card parlors to hang out in.
- Dreamers are drawn to the golden crystal in the center of town
- The crystal here replaces the crystal used for rewards in Visium (here)
- The golden bracelets (seen during the 4th wall event) may contain memories of the original wearer or dreams/visions of their world if taken care of
- Dreamers are encouraged to change their grand wish (the wish that made the contract); IF YOU CHOOSE TO DO SO, please respond to your original application with your updated wish, or it won't be counted
- The crystal is offering welcome gifts; you can choose any ONE out of the five options per player
Interest Check
Hello, I am hosting a small side plot with a few people from Laby who are interested in something like this. The plot is inconsequential to the overarching plot of Laby, and intends to simply offer some sidebar CR and IC drama. It is completely optional and set in a way that can easily be overlooked by those uninvolved or uninterested.
It is a Murder Mystery, so be aware of some intended CWs surrounding that subject.
The story prompt will be submitted on January 27th, and those who have reached out through the interest check will be the ones who are allowed to interact with the log. This interest check will be open from January 13th to January 20th, giving me time to edit any additional queries and add anything that can bring more to the table so everyone has general participation and fun.
⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀✱ Mechanics & rules
⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀Important take away: 1d10 rolls with +5 Potential Modifier, play like you would a DND game for those familiar.
I am running this how I would run a DND game; I have never run or played a Murder game in DWRP, so I am going to run this again with what I am familiar with. There are rolling rules, but they are very basic and easy to understand. I am using 5E logic when deciding how investigations work and how someone's role can have modifiers.
⠀ ⠀ 1. Active Investigation at a time per person.
⠀ ⠀ 2. Try not to Investigate the same info.
⠀ ⠀ 3. If the information is listed in the map area TL, you can hand wave your character, having learned it - however you want your character to have learned it.
⠀ ⠀ 4. When sending an investigation request, preemptively roll and type the number in the subject line. Then tell me what skills you want to add to the roll, if any. I will use 5E logic to add to rolls. (ROLL: 1d10) The Max modifier is +5 regardless of whether or not you have more skills that you can add.
⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ∗ If one person fails a check with the investigation, that failed person can help action another individual. Who wants to investigate the same thing the other player just did. The player being helped, can then roll twice, taking the better roll. You can only do this once per area of investigation; basically, don't try to start a stacking chain, lmfao.
⠀ ⠀ 5. If you need help in an investigation like: Would my character know...? You can ask in the investigation prompt as well. EX: DO you think my character would know that player character possibly?
⠀ ⠀ 6. To make sure you get reward credit or activity credit, make sure to create a log to ICLY roleplay your investigations or start a thread with someone else. This way, you can have participation. Alternatively, you can find other ways, like perhaps investigating and then conversing about what was figured out with another person - just understand, do not to use the investigation comments for AC or Rewards as they will mostly be OOC dialogue between muns.
Regarding how to approach any ongoing investigation, simply look at the map that is provided when the log is made. Let me know what you are interested in looking at, and go from there. Abilities can be used, but realize that for all abilities and magic can do - logic is more sound here. I will only answer questions and give information based on what you ask, if you do not ask - I will not tell. So feel free to ask what you wish.
⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀✱ What to Know Going into This.
There will be three main points of the plot, which is one: Figuring out who died (icly, oocly we know its Hakuno), what happened, and the first decision to be made in this plot is whether or not you tell BB what is going on.
――――――― Can you develop Neg CR with BB from this? It would be very hard to, if anything, please look at this in a way that can impress her(not that that matters tbf, just the point being...). Whatever your decisions are as "members of humanity," can only boost any CR you have with her. If anything, any Neg CR will translate to disappointment - which, frankly, isn't that important bc she feels that way about everyone, generally speaking. This was written with no consequence of damaging CR other than having a rough exchange with the person who committed the murder. However, this is RP, and we never know what is going to happen - so, if you are not in the mood for potential neg CR consequences. I would possibly check out of this plot then! Always remember communication is hot, and the new cool thing to do. Your feelings matter, so let us know if something is going on.
Where is this? In Somnius, within the town area where businesses are.
What time is this handled? In the evening.
⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ With those in mind, ask yourself if your character would be in Somnius, walking around at night around Jan 27th.
How will the Scene Start? With some loose fleeting wording to get the story going, noises for an RP Hook to begin.
Pacing in Mind? Comfortable, but we would like the Log to be ended within a month from when the Roleplay Begins.
Are you looking for more antagonizers or additional problems? Possibly, but the plot is pretty set; if anything else were to be done, it would have to be someone purposely wanting to make the investigation harder. If you are interested, just let me know privately!
⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀✱ Anything else?
Again, this is for IC fun, and if you know oocly who did it - it is no big deal. Make sure to roleplay your character, figuring it out the right way, so no info modding.
