Welcome to the game, newbies! To our current dreamer crew, glad you're still with us! This post will act as an OOC intro for new players and a CR meme for everyone. Below you will see the CR meme form as well as a Event Outline for our current TDM. There will also be a "Sleepr" post later this month, next weekend infact! Low stakes fun CR building. Look forward to it!

Garden of Dreams

• dreamers are brought to the enchanted garden
• two flowers, Agapanthus and Snapdragons causing sleepiness or energy
• dragonkin arrive to guide new arrivals from the garden and take them to the new portal that has appeared.

Within Somnius

• sun is up, still snowing 24/7
• Locals want the dreamers to leave Somnius and go to Lumindeas, but THEY DO NOT HAVE TO, nor do they have to move their business - can if they want, but not required
• Seravo's voice welcomes the dreamers to the new setting
• Passing through the portal, dreamer feels their greatest current desire in an overwhelming manner

The Land of Lumindeas

• the land is large and varied with plenty to explore.
• it is winter and snowy, though crisper and lighter than the atmosphere in Visium
• Portal Settlement outside of the city is where Dreamers wind up
• Farms with animal and crop specialties exist and require hands to help
• Yhaveh Forest is labyrinth like and dangerous, it's possible to get lost
• There's a seashell gathering contest for those who want to participate and street food vendors for anyone visiting
• The airships offer travel to an overnight trip through the Air Cliffs and an overnight trip to the hot springs in the Crystal Spires

Into Starlit Walls

• the city is massive, and overall welcoming
• Dragonkin are a dominant race of locals
• Vaeros will have a funeral, a lantern lighting ritual as proclaimed by Seravo, his brother.
• The royal quarter, the place where all dreamers have the option to live is looking to decorate with emotion-filled streamers
• The greenery is having a paint-fight-contest for fun and profit
• The dockyards are looking for a few good fishermen, but the water sure seems to have strange properties...
• There's a criminal element evident in the city and appropriate locations such as bars and smoking dens and card parlors to hang out in.

Gilded Wishes

• Dreamers are drawn to the golden crystal in the center of town
• The crystal here replaces the crystal used for rewards in Visium (here)
• The golden bracelets (seen during the 4th wall event) may contain memories of the original wearer or dreams/visions of their world if taken care of
• Dreamers are encouraged to change their grand wish (the wish that made the contract); IF YOU CHOOSE TO DO SO, please respond to your original application with your updated wish, or it won't be counted
• The crystal is offering welcome gifts; you can choose any ONE out of the five options per player

Character Name: Hermes
Canon: Final Fantasy XIV, the critically acclaimed MMORPG that has a free trial including the entirety of A Realm Reborn AND the award-winning Heavensward expansion AND the Stormblood expansion up to level 70 with no restrictions on playtime
Character Age: physically & mentally in his mid- to late 20s
General Info: Literally the saddest man in his world. Hermes is a wildly empathetic individual who believes that every life is important, not just the lives of mankind. He takes issue with sacrificing "lesser" lives for the sake of progress, and he seeks answers/alternatives from outside of his world. Because of these views, Hermes can't fully relate to anyone in his canon, adding loneliness to his sad cocktail.
TL;DR: sad man very sad, seeks purpose, connections.

Housing Plans: He'll choose a house in Lumindeas/the Grand City of Stellari. No roommates, but would be happy for some neighbor CR!

Desired CR: Friends, friendly acquaintances, questing buddies, etc. Primarily looking for positive CR right now. Hermes does well with characters who are optimistic and/or driven. Extroverts to pull him out of his reserved shell are great. He also appreciates other people who feel deep sorrow and will immediately attempt to bond with them bc /spiderman pointing meme, they're the same!!

Not Looking For: He would be repulsed by people who choose violence for violence's sake, and by those who lack empathy in general. Hermes also chooses flight over conflict 99% of the time, so he's probably not a good match for more combative personalities.

Monthly Plans: TDM top-level here! Also planning to put him on Sleepr when it goes up.

RP Wishlist: Right now my wishlist consists of "get this sad man some nice CR" and "get a genuine grin out of him." Let's do it!!

In all seriousness, I think he and Vash would get along really well in a lot of ways. Optimistic and driven? Deeply, bone-achingly filled with sorrow? But also somehow outgoing and goofy? He's your man.

yes, i absolutely agree!! i have not seen trigun stampede yet (shock! gasp!) but am very familiar with trigun/vash in general. would love to see how these two shake out 😁

Naoya is 'friendly' with Hyth but can also tell him about how awful people can be. He doesn't lack empathy, but he's been pretty scarred.

... Otoha on the other hand has been brought up to choose violence first so lmao

oooh, it sounds like it could be fun to throw him and naoya together! i am not canon familiar, but if naoya feels empathy and sorrow, he's someone hermes will probably try to bond with \o/

otoha would probably just horrify hermes LMAO so let's see how things go with naoya and hermes first!

He can feel both but mostly for himself pfft. He's literally Cain and has memories of every reincarnation for the past 5500 years and it's been almost entirely awful! So he wants to kill God about it, as Shin Megami Tensei characters do.

Otoha's actually pretty nice! It's just that his solution to 'someone tried to steal from me' is '... stab time?' rather than reasoning with them.

So!! I have been hoping for a Hermes to show up because of how much Harry and him would have in common. The tl;dr is that Harry is quite possibly the Saddest Man In The World, as far as his canon is concerned. He used a thing that exists in his canon called the Pale to erase his own memories (as well as copious amounts of alcohol). He hasn't learned about the Final Days from paling around with the other ancients, but if he had he'd be very openly like "uh if I was a sorcerer I probably would have accidentally caused it! that's horrible!"

Between the game he's a CRAU from and this one, he's been doing a lot better, so I'd love to see where cr with another Saddest Man In The World will go.

oh wow, yeah they have a ton in common! hermes is from before hearing about the final days, so thankfully they won't need to stare in horrified silence as they bond over what they have/could have done. :') instead they can bond over other things! woo!!

for real though, i'm really enjoying their thread so far, and now i'm all excited over the things they can learn about each other. let's see where this goes! ♥

Character Name: Reiner Braun
Canon: Attack on Titan
Character Age: 21 (yes, really, he just looks older than he is)
General Info: Reiner is an antagonist turned protagonist with a metric shitton of issues and a guilt complex the size of the sun. He was a child soldier turned human weapon who has killed more people than he can count and just wants to lay down and rest. He is friendly, protective, loyal, and can adapt to almost any situation. He is also self-destructive and powering toward what he believes is the end of the world. Fun times! If he loves you, he'll die for you, unless you die for him first. (Please stop dying for him first.)
TL;DR: child soldier turned extremely damaged young adult who needs 30 hugs in a row; can and will be your big brother.

Desired CR: Patient people willing to chat with him until he comes out of his shell. Reiner is a very friendly extrovert by nature, but trauma etc caused him to close off; he needs a little time before he opens up. Also people to recognize that WHEW this man is lying his ass off when he says he's fine. Fellow soldiers/warrior types would also be great.

Not Looking For: Negative CR without an arc/purpose. (ICly he doesn't have the patience for it.) He's uninterested in people who lack willpower, and he's judgmental of people who don't own up to their actions.

Monthly Plans: TDM top-level here, plus welcoming late tag-ins on December's event. Planning to put him on Sleepr when that goes up.

RP Wishlist: Reiner's current character arc involves memory loss! He was in game previously but forgot that time, exacerbating insecurity brought on by canon memory issues. As such, he's struggling to trust his mind. Getting him some people he trusts who can confirm things that do/do not happen would be great. His other current arc is "get this man to take care of himself physically" (e.g., eat more); anyone who wants to help with that is more than welcome.

tragically reiner does not have his strappy gear (yet?), but maybe he can borrow jean's or something. or get it in some other way. rn he is saving all his wishing-power to recover his titan, so it may have to wait until after that
