Welcome to the game, newbies! To our current dreamer crew, glad you're still with us! This post will act as an OOC intro for new players and a CR meme for everyone. Below you will see the CR meme form as well as a Event Outline for our current TDM. There will also be a "Sleepr" post later this month, next weekend infact! Low stakes fun CR building. Look forward to it!

Garden of Dreams

• dreamers are brought to the enchanted garden
• two flowers, Agapanthus and Snapdragons causing sleepiness or energy
• dragonkin arrive to guide new arrivals from the garden and take them to the new portal that has appeared.

Within Somnius

• sun is up, still snowing 24/7
• Locals want the dreamers to leave Somnius and go to Lumindeas, but THEY DO NOT HAVE TO, nor do they have to move their business - can if they want, but not required
• Seravo's voice welcomes the dreamers to the new setting
• Passing through the portal, dreamer feels their greatest current desire in an overwhelming manner

The Land of Lumindeas

• the land is large and varied with plenty to explore.
• it is winter and snowy, though crisper and lighter than the atmosphere in Visium
• Portal Settlement outside of the city is where Dreamers wind up
• Farms with animal and crop specialties exist and require hands to help
• Yhaveh Forest is labyrinth like and dangerous, it's possible to get lost
• There's a seashell gathering contest for those who want to participate and street food vendors for anyone visiting
• The airships offer travel to an overnight trip through the Air Cliffs and an overnight trip to the hot springs in the Crystal Spires

Into Starlit Walls

• the city is massive, and overall welcoming
• Dragonkin are a dominant race of locals
• Vaeros will have a funeral, a lantern lighting ritual as proclaimed by Seravo, his brother.
• The royal quarter, the place where all dreamers have the option to live is looking to decorate with emotion-filled streamers
• The greenery is having a paint-fight-contest for fun and profit
• The dockyards are looking for a few good fishermen, but the water sure seems to have strange properties...
• There's a criminal element evident in the city and appropriate locations such as bars and smoking dens and card parlors to hang out in.

Gilded Wishes

• Dreamers are drawn to the golden crystal in the center of town
• The crystal here replaces the crystal used for rewards in Visium (here)
• The golden bracelets (seen during the 4th wall event) may contain memories of the original wearer or dreams/visions of their world if taken care of
• Dreamers are encouraged to change their grand wish (the wish that made the contract); IF YOU CHOOSE TO DO SO, please respond to your original application with your updated wish, or it won't be counted
• The crystal is offering welcome gifts; you can choose any ONE out of the five options per player

Harry Du Bois | Disco Elysium

Character Name: Harry Du Bois
Canon: Disco Elysium
Character Age: 44… probably 45 by now, he doesn’t have an official birthday
General Info: Harry is a drunk (though currently trying to stay sober), self-destructive mess who loves people but hates himself. He’s extremely empathetic for the downtrodden, and very, very driven. When he gets an idea in his head, he’s incapable of stopping. Even deliberately wiping all of his memories didn’t make him stop; all it did was show the only thing Harry knows what to do is work.

He’s also the protagonist of his canon, and a good 85% of the dialogue in the game is Harry’s shattered and disconnected thoughts talking to each other. In game, he’s a pseudo-customizable protagonist in that you can choose how he interacts with the world and exactly how much of a hot mess he is for the duration of the game. It’s all Harry, though. Especially the horrifically embarrassing intrusive thoughts you can have him say/do if he fails a skill check. For anyone canon familiar, these are his endgame stats, more or less. For anyone not familiar, the tl;dr is that he spends much of his time lost in his own thoughts, and is as prone to dream logic as he is concrete thinking. He’s also so empathetic he’s liable to burst into tears over your tragic backstory.
Desired CR: Anything!. Friends, enemies, frenemies, the awkward sort who don’t know what to do with each other… the latter is one of my favorites, and Harry is awkward enough this can be easily done.

Montly Plans: Harry is going to be spending most of the month exploring Lumindeas, and trying to figure out what to do. He doesn’t plan on abandoning his home in Visium, or the island in general. He knows most of it is probably uninhabitable, but… well, there are parts of his nation that are just as badly off, and people still live there.

RP Wishlist: Given recent events, he’ll be looking for people interested in banding together to try to improve the situation. He doesn’t fault anyone who didn’t give up their powers, because Vaeros didn’t exact make himself popular, but now they’ve got quite a lot of rebuilding to do, especially with the locals no longer on their side. Though the situation on the island is bad, Harry is from the slums… he’s pretty used to dire situations, and will be using explorations of the new island to try to come up with idea for how to improve the situation in what’s left of his home.

Anything else: his permissions. He comes with a couple content warnings, so look them over if you’re concerned.

I'm down so much for cloudcuckoolander behaviours and him breaking down over Hisoka's backstory (CWs there, please make sure to read permissions to opt in). Hisoka will have no real idea what to do for a solid minute. But I'll be cackling the whole time, I'm sure.

Oh, I love this!

I'm familiar with Yami no Matsuei so I'm fine with Harry learning about all of that gruesomeness— I opted in on his permissions.

Harry does not currently have his own empathy powers, but oh boy is he still Extremely Empathetic, so what could go wrong between the two of them?

James Sunderland | Silent Hill 2

Character Name: James Sunderland
Canon: Silent Hill 2 (2024)
Character Age: Mid 30s
General Info: James acts like he’s trapped inside of a dream. He has a stilted way of talking, and generally just comes across as very, very off. He’s plagued with a number of issues, most of them self-inflicted. He’s taken from one of the new endings in the remake, specifically Stillness, which if you’re familiar with the original but aren’t familiar with what Bloober has added to it, asks the question “how do we make In Water more depressing?”

Massive SH2R spoilers, cw for discussions of suicide and abuse

Stillness is the only NG+ ending that is itself locked behind a specific ending. In the context of the story the remake is trying to tell, the implications are that James took his own life in In Water, before things "reset" on him. James himself doesn't really remember this, at least not clearly.

Stillness opens similarly to Bloober's take on In Water, with James talking to someone unseen in the back seat. It's revealed to be Mary, who isn't alive so much as she's a vivid hallucination. He expresses profound remorse for her murder, and cries over it, which is a huge change from the complete dead inside behavior he shows in In Water. Mary then talks to him from the back seat and comforts him. While they're talking, the letter that called James to the town of Silent Hill in the first place reappears in the passenger seat, and James realizes he's never going to escape from Silent Hill and opts to drive into Toluca Lake for a second time.

For the most part, James is even tempered and doesn’t get angry much, unless he’s given information that seems to be an attempt to snap him out of the delusions he’s trapped himself in. On the plus side, he’s unlikely to be asking complete strangers if they’ve seen his wife, at least for the time being. That’ll probably change once he starts thinking about what him being around in this place means, but for now he’s going to be that bizarre, barely functioning guy who doesn’t fear danger whatsoever.
Housing Plans: He’ll be going for a loft in Lumindeas. He doesn’t need a whole lot of space, and also isn’t going to be living on the island that is mostly covered in crystals, because why would he? He knows there’s some sort of backstory going on, but he’s honestly not very concerned about any of that.

Desired CR: Anything!. Friends, enemies, frenemies, the awkward sort who don’t know what to do with each other… James isn’t nearly as friendly as Harry, so getting to the friends stage with him will be… difficult, but getting him to at least be relatively interested in people isn’t nearly as difficult.

I’d love to have people who follow him around because he’s a complete and utter disaster, or more optimistically, people who follow him around because he’s liable to hurt himself. He deserves the former more than the latter, tbh. I must emphasize that he’s gross.

Monthly Plans: I don’t have anything right now, beyond him getting situated on the TDM.

RP Wishlist: Given James is brand new, I’ll take anything! He has a toplevel on the TDM I’m happy to have people continue tagging, as well as tagging into other people’s top levels.

Anything else: his permissions. James comes with some massive content warnings, including discussions of suicidal ideation and domestic abuse, so feel free to use his opt-out if needed.
