OOC Intro & Intense Event Plotting November 2024
• OOC INTRO + EVENT PLANNING •
Welcome to the game, newbies! To our current dreamer crew, welcome to our next event! This post will act as an OOC intro for new players, a CR meme for everyone, and a place to make some plans for our next event which will go live on November 17th and end November 30th. Below you will see the CR meme form as well as a Event Outline for our upcoming event. As this month also contains a 4th wall element, I have also included a section to explain this element.• 4th Wall •Welcome to our 4th wall styled event! This event will be open to anyone on dreamwidth to participate in, though mods will have the final say. 4th wall characters, or "visitors" will appear throughout the city of Somnius upon the start of the event. Upon the conclusion, all Visitors will be gone. Perhaps temporarily should our 4th wall friends decide to apply in January or another time! 4TH Wall Participation Rules and Requirements
- No Doubles. If a character is already in game, another version cannot be played as a 4th wall "Visitor".
- CRAU & AU are both allowed (with the exception of doubles)
- Our One Month rule stands for playable content. A canon/chapter/episode/etc must have been released for one month as of the beginning of the event to be eligible for play.
- Players intending to 4th wall MUST post a plotting comment and link it in our Visitor directory.
- Players who do not want to post a top level simply need to fill out a comment under the Visitor directory with their Name and Contact Information. Their header should be the character they intend to play and the canon.
- Current players may also play 4th wall characters. There is no limit to how many characters one can play in the event.

Visitors ArriveControl Slips
- Cracks and tears in Vaeros’ barrier appear and mysterious Visitors appear all over the city of Somnius
- Other than the mysterious arrival of these Visitors nothing really seems awry, though Visitors that arrive in this manner are easily identified by a gold cuff bracelet around their left wrist that cannot be removed by any means.
- Prompts included will facilitate interacting with the setting and locale while giving new players a chance to explore the setting as it is normally
- Visitors do not remember a contract with Vaeros or a wish being made. Curious.
Returning Magic
- Over time, the setting starts to break and things stop working as they normally have
- Strange weather effects occur all over and at the same time. Blizzards, heavy rains, heatwaves.
- Night and Day begin to swap over and over again. Somtiemes it’s day for a few hours, then twilight and day again. There’s no rhyme or reason to it
- The chaos will bring visits from creatures previously fought by the dreamers including the shadow wolves, the fireys and the IRS.
OOC Note: Linked TDM plotting posts are for reference of these mentioned creatures only.- Cracks in the island form, spreading and causing ravines that seem to drop clear to inferna... These cracks will appear all over, including in Somnius but will not disturb places marked as homes.
Working Together
- Vaeros appears as an image in the sky, his face painted across the sunset sky and starry nights. He demands repayment if Dreamers wish to survive.
- Dreamers are given the option to go to the crystal and pray, returning rewards they have been given with earned shards to repower Vaeros.
OOC NOTE: The rewards that can be sacrificed can ONLY be powers or high stakes items that facilitate character abilities. Regains to housing, mundane items and similar are not valid. Anything that is voluntarily sacrificed during this event will be returned at a later time via another event and cannot be regained with shards in the meantime.- Dreamers that sacrifice these regain will temporarily be granted an extra potion power during the event that can be utilized at full power to help others in their efforts to save Visium.
- Natives are the key to relieving the issues throughout Visium in the meantime. They are highly keen to encourage interaction between Dreamers and Visitors
- Interacting and working together in groups mixed with Visitors and Dreamers will soothe issues and heal ravines/cracks in the ground.
- Natives have set up tasks to facilitate this, sending visitors and dreamers across Visium to complete quests.
- By the time the event is scheduled to close and enough magic is returned to Vaeros to control his land, visitors begin to flicker and disappear. They leave behind their gold bracelets.

Blue | This Is How You Lose the Time War
Canon: This Is How You Lose the Time War
Character Age: Never ask an immortal her age
General Info: Post-human time-traveling, dimension-hopping spy/assassin/operative. Her job is basically to maintain timelines so that the right people and ideas exist to promote the creation of her organization in the far-flung future; and to thwart attempts made by the rival organization doing the same. She cultivates her personality very deliberately and comes off as sophisticated and well-composed, generally upbeat, warm and friendly, and quick to laughter when she finds things amusing (which is often). Under the surface, she's a soldier first and foremost. There's a mix of violent thoughts, callousness, and a wariness of others. She also overthinks almost everything, and has some obsessively possessive tendencies. Her gay pining for her absent lover resonates at a frequency too high-pitched to hear, but it's there like constant background static.
Housing Plans: She's currently living by herself in the hill house neighborhood! She's been growing a lot of plants in her yard. At the moment, they are (almost) all poisonous to some degree. (Normal things that are only dangerous to eat like holly, irises, etc. But also things that cause rashes when touched, like monkshood or poison ivy.) At most, she has a little sign in front that says not to pick them. It's on everyone else to follow instructions. The flowers update with the seasons.
Desired CR: I would love some plant/nature/non-human friends for her. I also want both super innocent CR that she can find charming and shady CR that she can be casual with. Perceptive characters are also welcome to catch that there's something Not Quite Right about her (too sharp, too intense), though it's not an easy thing to pick up on if she's trying to blend in well.
Event Plans: Blue has officially hit her one-year anniversary; and she is feeling a little unhinged about that. So you know what? What if they just let the world break? Has anyone tried that? Maybe they were onto something when the timelines broke two months ago. She won't go as far as smashing the crystal herself, since that didn't end well; but Blue is going to be periodically camped at the crystal to persuade people not to sacrifice their wishes back to Vaeros. This persuasion will be in the form of an eldritch-looking wolf, similar to the shadow wolves but bigger and with extra legs, eyes, and teeth. She will most likely be violent! Even with close CR, she might still rough them up to convince them to turn around if need be.
I am okay with people fighting her, if they feel the need! She is here to be a menace. If you want a reason for your character to not give up their stuff, she can be that reason! I'm also okay with her dying, if it comes to that; though I'd like that part to be planned out if it's going to happen.
RP Wishlist: I'd love for people to makes friends with her and try and get to know her! She could really use that, but CR with her is unfortunately very slow burn because she's so slow to trust others. Still, if you want it, then we can make it work somehow!

Fang Duobing | Mysterious Lotus Casebook
Canon: Mysterious Lotus Casebook
Character Age: 20
General Info: Fang Duobing is a cultivator, a detective, and the bestest good boy around. Practiced martial arts since he was a child in order to overcome his sickliness and inability to walk. Believes in justice and righteousness and is generally an idealistic young hero who wants to make a name for himself by righting wrongs and solving mysteries. Only son of two parents that love him so much, so he's a bit of a bratty rich kid. Can be argumentative at times, but his heart is in the right place. His family is extremely good at devices, so he's able to make a lot of really nifty stuff with wires and pulleys and gears, etc. Good at spotting traps and such. Stubborn, intensely loyal, here to make friends with basically anyone so long as they're not awful or rude. He's very emotional at times, and has a tendency to center those emotions as his priority rather than taking in others' perspectives--although those emotions usually involve the well-being of others so it doesn't come off as being immediately self-focused.
Housing Plans: He lives in "Li Lianhua's hill house" because that's still Li Lianhua's house, even if he lives there too. He works most mornings at the cafe and takes home sweet drinks and pastries when he leaves.
Desired CR: I'm open to a lot of kinds of CR! People he can get along with, people he can argue with, younger kids that might latch onto him. Anyone into puzzles and devices and whatnot, he's down to talk shop. People who know sword-fighting are also important!
Event Plans: Fang Duobing is going to be helping as needed! He will not be giving back his powers because he needs those to help Li Lianhua, and that's priority #1. I'm okay with him being hit up by 4th wall characters! I'll probably be only tagging out with him, so do let me know if you want to do anything with him!
RP Wishlist: Just more friends! Also anyone that wants to antagonize him is welcome to! Being a bitch is a love language in this house.

Mirabelle | In Stars And Time | Visitor
Canon: In Stars and Time
Character Age: Early 20s
General Info: Mirabelle is a Housemadien of the Change God and also their Chosen! This means she's been tasked with saving her country from a King that is trying to freeze it in time. She's extremely sweet and extremely anxious with a hidden intensity that manifests as determination (or ruthlessness, as her friends joke, much to her extreme dismay). She believes in helping others and in the power of Change, but especially that absolutely no one is beyond the ability to change for the better. She loves reading books; her favorite genre is horror, but specifically "beautiful young men having terrible things happening to them". Her favorite series is "The Cursing of Chateau Castle".
Are you planning on applying in the future? Probably applying in January! But I want Siffrin to suffer, so she won't remember this 4th wall event.
Setting Interests: I'm specifically looking forward to however Mirabelle's particular brand of positive thoughts only interacts with the other characters in the game, and especially her belief that no one is beyond redemption if they truly want it. Everyone must be given the chance to Change, and she does mean everyone. I'm also just excited to play a character that I can be more silly with. ♥
Event Plans: She can fight! She can heal real good! She is... not going to know what to do about Time moving too fast; she can't fix that and it's going to stress her out. She doesn't see any problem with helping Vaeros to fix the village?? Even if she's informed that he's been very rude in the past; maybe he's genuinely trying to fix things this time??? They should at least give him the chance... Unfortunately, she's going to stress about what she can offer that she won't need for herself and her friends, only to realize she can't offer anything! So she'll be doing her utmost to help heal the cracks and to keep people out of danger, instead. My primary goal is going to be getting her some interactions with the current residents, so she'll have something to Not Remember and be stressed about when I app her in January.

Red Fox | Lies of P
Canon: Lies of P
Character Age: late 20s
General Info: Fox works as a Stalker (mercenary of sorts) alongside her brother, Black Cat. She's well dressed, well spoken, and very skilled with a sword. Her line of work is usually killing monsters, but sometimes less savory things like kidnapping or extortion. She's loyal only to Cat, does whatever she can for him, with the hope that some day they can leave town and live peacefully as a family elsewhere. She would like friends, she just doesn't think she can afford to focus on anything but her and Cat right now.

Setting Interests: Mostly just here for Cat and his CR. I might tag out a bit if something catches my eye, or if someone really wants her? But I feel like she's not gonna be a highly sought after character.
