OOC Intro & Intense Event Plotting November 2024

• OOC INTRO + EVENT PLANNING •

Welcome to the game, newbies! To our current dreamer crew, welcome to our next event! This post will act as an OOC intro for new players, a CR meme for everyone, and a place to make some plans for our next event which will go live on November 17th and end November 30th. Below you will see the CR meme form as well as a Event Outline for our upcoming event. As this month also contains a 4th wall element, I have also included a section to explain this element.
• 4th Wall •
Welcome to our 4th wall styled event! This event will be open to anyone on dreamwidth to participate in, though mods will have the final say. 4th wall characters, or "visitors" will appear throughout the city of Somnius upon the start of the event. Upon the conclusion, all Visitors will be gone. Perhaps temporarily should our 4th wall friends decide to apply in January or another time! 4TH Wall Participation Rules and Requirements
No Doubles. If a character is already in game, another version cannot be played as a 4th wall "Visitor".
CRAU & AU are both allowed (with the exception of doubles)
Our One Month rule stands for playable content. A canon/chapter/episode/etc must have been released for one month as of the beginning of the event to be eligible for play.
Players intending to 4th wall MUST post a plotting comment and link it in our Visitor directory.
Players who do not want to post a top level simply need to fill out a comment under the Visitor directory with their Name and Contact Information. Their header should be the character they intend to play and the canon.
Current players may also play 4th wall characters. There is no limit to how many characters one can play in the event.

Visitors Arrive
Cracks and tears in Vaeros’ barrier appear and mysterious Visitors appear all over the city of Somnius
Other than the mysterious arrival of these Visitors nothing really seems awry, though Visitors that arrive in this manner are easily identified by a gold cuff bracelet around their left wrist that cannot be removed by any means.
Prompts included will facilitate interacting with the setting and locale while giving new players a chance to explore the setting as it is normally
Visitors do not remember a contract with Vaeros or a wish being made. Curious.
Control Slips
Over time, the setting starts to break and things stop working as they normally have
Strange weather effects occur all over and at the same time. Blizzards, heavy rains, heatwaves.
Night and Day begin to swap over and over again. Somtiemes it’s day for a few hours, then twilight and day again. There’s no rhyme or reason to it
The chaos will bring visits from creatures previously fought by the dreamers including the shadow wolves, the fireys and the IRS.
OOC Note: Linked TDM plotting posts are for reference of these mentioned creatures only.
Cracks in the island form, spreading and causing ravines that seem to drop clear to inferna... These cracks will appear all over, including in Somnius but will not disturb places marked as homes.
Returning Magic
Vaeros appears as an image in the sky, his face painted across the sunset sky and starry nights. He demands repayment if Dreamers wish to survive.
Dreamers are given the option to go to the crystal and pray, returning rewards they have been given with earned shards to repower Vaeros.
OOC NOTE: The rewards that can be sacrificed can ONLY be powers or high stakes items that facilitate character abilities. Regains to housing, mundane items and similar are not valid. Anything that is voluntarily sacrificed during this event will be returned at a later time via another event and cannot be regained with shards in the meantime.
Dreamers that sacrifice these regain will temporarily be granted an extra potion power during the event that can be utilized at full power to help others in their efforts to save Visium.
Working Together
Natives are the key to relieving the issues throughout Visium in the meantime. They are highly keen to encourage interaction between Dreamers and Visitors
Interacting and working together in groups mixed with Visitors and Dreamers will soothe issues and heal ravines/cracks in the ground.
Natives have set up tasks to facilitate this, sending visitors and dreamers across Visium to complete quests.
By the time the event is scheduled to close and enough magic is returned to Vaeros to control his land, visitors begin to flicker and disappear. They leave behind their gold bracelets.

About Me: EST timezone but I work nights so my actual waking/tagging hours are an eternal mystery even to me. Hobbies are gaming and drawing on rare occasion. Big fandoms are Twisted Wonderland and Genshin Impact obviously, but also big into FFXIV, Warcraft, and Dragon Age. Dogs are wonderful, I have recently added a 3rd to my roster and he's a little handful. Tell your dog I said hi.

Character Name: Vil Schoenheit
Canon: Twisted Wonderland
Character Age: 20
General Info: Vil is ans actor and model by trade and, at his core, the most aggressive mom friend you will ever meet. He's like the Gordon Ramsay of self care. He strives for perfect by being a little better every day than he was the day before, and will push people to try and be the same. While aggressive, brutally honest, and hard to please, he does genuinely try to help others be the best they can be, so long as it's something in his wheelhouse and he can see genuine efforts being made.

In short he's vain and prideful, and a harsh critic, but one that does genuinely want to help even if that's just pestering characters to drink their water (Drink your water and stop sitting like a shrimp btw).

Housing Plans: Currently living with Webby, Lyney, Cater, and Idia in a cottage!

Desired CR: Hilariously he seems to have a habit of being the pied piper of child soldiers, so if you happen to have one that needs to be fed, clothed, or scolded into taking care of themselves... please let the trend continue. Otherwise just hit me up, he could still use people encouraging him to chill though he's kind of...? Getting better about that.

Initial Plans: Vil has been settled a long time, though with recent departures he's scrambling a bit for a new way to market his cosmetics + get some help sewing clothes for new arrivals.

Event Plans: I'll PROBABLY be keeping it low key this month, new puppy + bdays got me busy. That said I'll probably be poking around some. If there's anything specific you want to do with Vil just let me know and we can work it out.

RP Wishlist: I'd like for him to get some theater stuff going, Vil's been itching to return to acting. He's been working towards the goal of getting back into acting here, and things are starting to make it a little more possible.

Also want them to add a household DnD night because it'd be cute. One I figure out the logistics of that I'd be happy to have people come visit their place.

Character Name: Kanoa (named by residents here) The Kabukimono/Scaramouche (Canon)
Canon: Genshin Impact
Character Age: a century and some change
General Info: The Kabukimono is a puppet made by the Electro Archon (God of Eternity with dominion over lightning, he refers to as his 'mother') of Inazuma (Fantasy Japan). He was a prototype of the divine puppet that his mother stored her soul in. He was built with the purpose of housing his mother's Gnosis, an object of his mother's divinity (basically a super battery filled with lightning powers), but he cried in his sleep upon being created, his mother had an emotional crisis, sealed his powers away, and threw him into naptime for a century rather than deal with the problem.

He still eagerly wants to fulfill his created purpose, and wants to attain his "heart" (the Gnosis). However, he's basically a child only having woken a few years ago. He had to be taught everything from reading and writing to combing his hair, and he's still lacking significant knowledge. He aims to be helpful and kind, and generally tends to love people as a default.

Housing Plans: Bounces between Eren's farm and a Mushroom house filled with cats

Desired CR: Honestly just more people for him to invite himself into their lives against their will, and just be a real weird baby about it all.

Initial Plans: Nothing concrete, he's just spending his days talking to frogs and making swords.

Event Plans: Like I mentioned in Vil's blurb, gonna be a slow month for me, if you want something specific or have an idea let me know! Otherwise keeping it lowkey

RP Wishlist: Just give him more people to befriend and confuse. Need a surrogate kid? Littble brother figure? Got a technology nerd character that wants to poke at a high fantasy robot? Hit him up!

Also there are future plans to wish for the ability to speak to frogs. He just really likes frogs.

Farther off in the future I plan to canon update him to his shittier older self, better known as Scaramouche. So just a heads up, he will not be cute and dumb forever. I am excited for this but I'm in it for the long run. Frogs first though.

Character Name: Malleus Draconia
Canon: Twisted Wonderland
Character Age: 178
General Info: A rather morose Night Fae prince, of the dragon variety. Malleus is a big scatterbrained lizard that comes in a handy travel-sized human form for convenience! Of course that means his more feral and wild personality quirks make less sense to those that do not know what he is. He tends to come across as incredibly unsettling and ominous, and thus winds up being kind of a loner. He's actually awkward and shy, prone to bouts of insomnia, very fond of gargoyles, and is doing his best to learn more about his short-lived neighbors (with mixed success). Basically the three parts of his brain (The prince, the enigmatic Fae, and the large apex predator) are in a constant struggle for dominance.

Housing Plans: Lives in a little run down cottage in the middle of bumfuck nowhere with Jamil, Kalim, Lilia, and Elan

Desired CR: Boy needs more people to be completely and utterly baffled by him honestly. He's a weird, silly lizard, with an incredibly unsettling sense of humor.

Initial Plans: Malleus has no schedule. He's like a cat that wanders around looking at Stuff, and then taking naps. He's been meandering around in his true form more often, so if anyone wants to mention seeing a big black dragon as a conversation topic, by all means

Event Plans: Taking it easy this month, so I will only be poking things here and there. If you want him for something, let me know!

sticks my leggy out. can i interest you in a little freak who's gradually getting to know (being subjected to) various folks in fae house because i would be DELIGHTED to have some malleus CR. maomao is still getting used to the notion that magic is real and i would love for her to meet a fae and get an even bigger headache about it. she's kind of prickly and her primary passion in life is poison and i just think that putting them in a room together would be highly entertaining

Sssssooooooper late since I’ve been trapped in puppy hell (I love it here, don’t get me wrong)! I’m totally up for this! Probably won’t be top leveling with Malleus currently, but keep an eye out for him in the future!

Character Name: Ciel Phantomhive
Canon: Black Butler Kuroshitsuji
Character Age: 13
General Info: Ciel is a dour sickly Victorian child first and foremost. He's got the personality of a grumpy old man, but the petulance of a proper 13 year old brat. He's a noble, and has spent his whole life being tended to by staff so he's absolutely USELESS when it comes to doing things himself, but he's actually incredibly clever to make up for it.

Are you planning on applying in the future?
Temporary, I'm sadly at max character allotment otherwise I absolutely would

Setting Interests: I think giving a kid who has been powerless himself a small taste of power could be really interesting- him trying to figure out how to wield the new potions powers though... that'll be hilarious.

Event Plans: Honestly, having him being lost and alone and put into survival mode is kind of hilarious to me- because he's absolutely going to crank up the "oh no look at me, I'm small helpless and adorable! Please won't you take care of me?" in order to get free stuff and body guards. So please, throw adults at him. Throw clever bastard adults that can squint at him even.

Anything else:
You'd think I'd have found a good shitpost for a canon that's nearly 20 years old... but here we are. Memeless.
