Welcome to the game, newbies! To our current dreamer crew, welcome to our next event! This post will act as an OOC intro for new players, a CR meme for everyone, and a place to make some plans for our next event which will go live on November 17th and end November 30th. Below you will see the CR meme form as well as a Event Outline for our upcoming event. As this month also contains a 4th wall element, I have also included a section to explain this element.
• 4th Wall •
Welcome to our 4th wall styled event! This event will be open to anyone on dreamwidth to participate in, though mods will have the final say. 4th wall characters, or "visitors" will appear throughout the city of Somnius upon the start of the event. Upon the conclusion, all Visitors will be gone. Perhaps temporarily should our 4th wall friends decide to apply in January or another time! 4TH Wall Participation Rules and Requirements
No Doubles. If a character is already in game, another version cannot be played as a 4th wall "Visitor".
CRAU & AU are both allowed (with the exception of doubles)
Our One Month rule stands for playable content. A canon/chapter/episode/etc must have been released for one month as of the beginning of the event to be eligible for play.
Players intending to 4th wall MUST post a plotting comment and link it in our Visitor directory.
Players who do not want to post a top level simply need to fill out a comment under the Visitor directory with their Name and Contact Information. Their header should be the character they intend to play and the canon.
Current players may also play 4th wall characters. There is no limit to how many characters one can play in the event.

Visitors Arrive
Cracks and tears in Vaeros’ barrier appear and mysterious Visitors appear all over the city of Somnius
Other than the mysterious arrival of these Visitors nothing really seems awry, though Visitors that arrive in this manner are easily identified by a gold cuff bracelet around their left wrist that cannot be removed by any means.
Prompts included will facilitate interacting with the setting and locale while giving new players a chance to explore the setting as it is normally
Visitors do not remember a contract with Vaeros or a wish being made. Curious.
Control Slips
Over time, the setting starts to break and things stop working as they normally have
Strange weather effects occur all over and at the same time. Blizzards, heavy rains, heatwaves.
Night and Day begin to swap over and over again. Somtiemes it’s day for a few hours, then twilight and day again. There’s no rhyme or reason to it
The chaos will bring visits from creatures previously fought by the dreamers including the shadow wolves, the fireys and the IRS.
OOC Note: Linked TDM plotting posts are for reference of these mentioned creatures only.
Cracks in the island form, spreading and causing ravines that seem to drop clear to inferna... These cracks will appear all over, including in Somnius but will not disturb places marked as homes.
Returning Magic
Vaeros appears as an image in the sky, his face painted across the sunset sky and starry nights. He demands repayment if Dreamers wish to survive.
Dreamers are given the option to go to the crystal and pray, returning rewards they have been given with earned shards to repower Vaeros.
OOC NOTE: The rewards that can be sacrificed can ONLY be powers or high stakes items that facilitate character abilities. Regains to housing, mundane items and similar are not valid. Anything that is voluntarily sacrificed during this event will be returned at a later time via another event and cannot be regained with shards in the meantime.
Dreamers that sacrifice these regain will temporarily be granted an extra potion power during the event that can be utilized at full power to help others in their efforts to save Visium.
Working Together
Natives are the key to relieving the issues throughout Visium in the meantime. They are highly keen to encourage interaction between Dreamers and Visitors
Interacting and working together in groups mixed with Visitors and Dreamers will soothe issues and heal ravines/cracks in the ground.
Natives have set up tasks to facilitate this, sending visitors and dreamers across Visium to complete quests.
By the time the event is scheduled to close and enough magic is returned to Vaeros to control his land, visitors begin to flicker and disappear. They leave behind their gold bracelets.

Teach at the school? Cause mischief? Event Plans: What are you looking to do in the event? Are you open to 4th wall characters? What seems the most interesting and fun to you in this event? RP Wishlist: List out some scenarios you really want to RP, or a character arc you'd like to work on! Anything else: Put up a funny gif or do whatever you want here. I'm fine with some questions, but there's a limit to how much I can just tell you when follow up events going forward will continue to tell the story and give more opportunities to interact with the setting.

i think i just wanted to ask about the crystal, is it different? Does it seem different? Is there still a dark energy coming from the crystal? the crystal is currently upgraded with the stuff some players did by any chance or no?

If the item does not facilitate abilities then unfortunately it is not what will work for this part of the event. When we talk about these kinds of items we are talking about things like Genshin Impact characters' visions, or Usagi's transformation brooch that facilitates her magic and transformation, etc.

The crystal still has the "stuff" from the network event yes. It still gives off a dark energy too! It does seem to be a little off somehow, like something simmering deep underneath the surface magic.

seeing as the place is being torn apart again (?) is this the same sort of issue that happened when time split or is this a different kind of magic or unraveling of magic?

I cannot answer that question, unfortunately.

In the interest of fairness, since this can be quite overpowered, we want to say that Yugi may be able to utilize them being real but with a certain limitation. 4 summons from his cards can be "real" but which ones could change day to day.

A good way to explain this ICly is the detachment he currently has from his "Canon" setting.

Hello mods another question now that I've thought about it. The event wraps on the 30th with the state of the world happening on the 10th. In the days between that (so for the first week and a quarter of December), how should we handle like network posts or logs?

With things being in flux, and [the players as a whole] not knowing what's going on with [the game setting until the announcement on the 10th], should we just be kind of vague like "Yes [character here] is [insert general game stuff here. Posting to the network, visiting CR via inboxes, etc]"? I don't want to keep mine on pause but I also don't want to just kinda tune out that the event will have wrapped and things are being done.

Please post to the network and log comms as you normally would. There's nothing preventing that, and with the disappearance of the Visitors there's no need to keep anything to event posts.

Aside from the Visitors disappearing on the 30th, you can expect the setting to be in chaos until the results and state of the world are posted.

However, I am going to have to limit questions of this nature moving forward, as they pertain to the results of the event and information on the metaplot that we are not yet ready to reveal. The mod team and I have scheduled things to give us time to plot and adjust things according to results comfortably. We will not always have events like this where results need to be tabulated and adjusted around, but we do expect players to make their own fun while being able to respect the current state of the setting when we do. Please do what you've done in the past between major events and continue to play in the setting as it stands until we toss out our updates.
