I'm sure their intentions were good. They probably just wanted you to stay safe and worried you might reveal yourself on accident if you knew. My father was the same way before I got engaged: Wouldn't let me outside of the palace and didn't want me in political discussions. I know he meant well, even when his choices weren't the ones for me.

But... I can't even imagine what it'd be like to not know who I really was.
