Normally, Poppy is happy to accept praise when it is lavished on her. But somehow, hearing the weight that the word 'Wizard' carries to Frodo, it feels like stolen valor. She is quick to wave her hands, trying to disavow him of whatever notion he's built up in his mind to assign her automatic grandeur.
"Oh, no, then it is a simple difference in nomenclature! I assure you, wizards in FaerΓ»n are nowhere nearly so rare or distinct. Why, there are wizards in such abundance to warrant multiple schools dedicated to the craft! There are just as many wretched or mediocre wizards as there are great and powerful ones."
She doesn't know anything about this Gandalf person, but clearly he is someone who has earned a great deal of respect, perhaps not only from Frodo, but from others in his world as well. To hear that he would agree that she is someone special, sight unseen? It doesn't feel fair.
