he was programmed with sonic's personality after all, makes sense they'd both be inclined towards doing something really stupid

ALSO IT'S FUNNY YOU SAY THAT while i dont think sonic could ever convince him to be good because he Hates Sonic Too Much it is...sooort of my character arc trajectory for him. he'd never stop being a killer robot because then he'd lose what makes him charming to me but him having a social circle of people he has attachment towards that can actually steer him towards being a bit better would be the ideal. i do actually want him to like...reverse character arc back to neo metal but moreso the independence/sentience/not caring about eggman, i dont really want him to try and pull something stupid like becoming the Ultimate Dream Overlord or whatever lmao

sorry i could genuinely write like 10,000 words on this stupid metal hedgehog but MY POINT IS IM EXCITED especially having a sonic around while this happens, he didnt have one in my old game but it would have been a much funnier experience if he did

I daydreamed at work about a scenario where Sonic eventually got 6 of the 7 Chaos Emeralds through regains over the months and time. ;; And while Sonic can never convince Metal to be good ofc, some le big bad thing happens and Sonic takes the final Emerald from Metal in a move paralleling the OVA. Stupid metal hedgehog feels occurs, but before Metal can shut down...

Sonic reaches out to and saves Metal with the Emeralds surrounding them.

"How's it feel being me?"

Super Sonic & Super Metal Sonic.

"Whaddya say, Metal? Let's show 'em what we're made of."
