I've kept notes on everyone I've met and everything I've experienced since I first arrived. It's second nature, as both a researcher and a counselor, to have that written record. And, to your point... it's helpful on a personal level, too.

[ There's much he could say about how seriously he takes that written record and how practical it's been, but those stories don't only belong to Maruki, so he keeps them close to his chest. ]

That being said... I've never written about Rumi in that way. It would be very difficult, yes. But if I were having this conversation with someone else, I would gently try to get them to see that any difficulty or pain would be worth it. Is that what you would tell me?
