Additional announcements:

• Some quick reminders again about our normal AC requirements:
  
  • Threads used for AC must have been started in the current month. If the post the thread is from was posted within the last week of the prior month, that is acceptable, but all tags in the thread must be from the current month. This means that a thread on a post from December 24th-31st with comments entirely in January is acceptable; but a thread on a post from December 12th, or where only some of the comments are from January, is not.
    
  • AC requirements are 5 comments in a single, concise thread. Please don't link to a top level with many branching threads, as once a thread is used for AC you cannot use it for bonus rewards, and also it is much easier on the mods who check AC if they don't have to scroll up and down to count the top level comment as one of the 5 comments in a thread. Please also be sure to link from the beginning of the thread, not the middle or end.
    
  • AC is waived for a character's first month in game. Newly apped characters MUST create their permanent top level on the AC page and comment on the month they app in “First month pass.” This makes checking AC easier for us!
    
  • Characters on HIATUS must comment on their AC that they are on hiatus. Linking the hiatus is great, but also just saying you're on hiatus is fine as well.
    
  • A hiatus must be a minimum of 2 weeks long to qualify for AC exemption. We do not allow retroactive hiatus requests. If you have emergency circumstances, please contact the mods for an exception.
    
  • When turning in AC, please use the entire form provided, including player name and character name. Please do this even when you're just checking in. This will make our AC mod's job easier.
    
  • Players/Characters who demonstrate habitual inactivity may be issued a warning at mods' discretion.
  
  
• New players who are reserving a character should please wait for their invitation to be approved first, and then link to the approved invitation comment in their reserve/application. As a reminder, we have discontinued blanket invites for friends of mods as well as mod invites. All incoming players must have an invitation from a current player, posted to the Invites page during the Invitations/Reserves window.
  
  
• HOUSING SIGNUPS AND CASTLES - In the interest of cleaning things up and giving us less mess to deal with overall, we are discontinuing housing signups. You can choose your character's house and keep that information in your journals, but we will no longer have a page for it. We will be keeping the current housing page as a reference to what is avaliable. In addition, we are removing Castles entirely from housing signup and moving them to a Shard Reward Only status. This will only affect castle housing going forward, all previous castles are now grandfathered in and will not disappear should the number of people living in them dip below 4. We have a signup below for existing castles.
  
  If your character group lives in a castle you MUST SIGN UP to let us know in this post by February 10th. Only one signup per castle is needed. We have provided a subheader for that purpose below.
  
  
• CHARACTER BUSINESSES & JOBS - Likewise, in the dust of a new mod team settling in, we have changes here too. We will no longer keep track of or require job signups, that will be up to players to keep track of. You should still have permission from business owners to work in their businesses, however! In addition, going forward any businesses that are left by characters who drop will remain in a closed state so that players can reclaim them by going to the rewards page and making a request. Because previously businesses of dropped characters were removed, unfortunately this means that any businesses before this change are gone, and cannot be reclaimed this way.
  
  
  
• Reserves and Invitations are open now. Applications will open at 9am CST on 2/5, and close at 9am CST on 2/10. Our TDM from last month is still active. New characters who would like to get more eyes on their TDM threads are welcome to link their top level under the TDM Newbies header comment. The OOC Intro/Plotting Meme for this month's event will go up on 2/10, and the event itself will be posted on 2/12. This month's event will be a Dream Event! If you would like to submit your character's canon for a future Dream Event, you may do so here.
